Composition:
Each 100 gm contain
Erythromycin thiocyanate 20gm
Properties:
Erythromycin is a
macrolide antibiotic which may be bacteriostatic or
bactericidal under the conditions of cynical use and is
effective in the treatment of infections due to a wide
range of micro - organisms it acts by interfering with
ribosomal protein synthesis within the bacterial cell.
Indications:
Poultry: prevention and treatment of diseases
caused by mycoplasma, gram positive and gram negative
bacteria especially inf. Coryza, CRD, secondary
infection of Viral infection as New castle, ILT&IB
Calves, Foals, Lambs: Bacterial infection
especially of respiratory, urogenital and digestive
system e.g. bronchopneumonia, Pleuropneumonia, E.Coil
and salmonella infection, pyelonephritis, endometritis,
joint ill and navel ill of calves & septicemia.
Adverse
drug reactions:
Relatively minor and
it appears as sensitivity reactions and infrequently
undesirable effects such as vomiting and diarrhea are
related to oral administration of large doses.
Dosage
& Administration:
Poultry: Prevention
0.5 gm./1 liter of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Therapy: 1.0 gm./1 liter of drinking water for
3-5 days.
Calves, Foals: 3gm / 50 kg body weight for 3-5
days.
Lambs: 3gm
/ 40 kg body weight for 3-5 days.
Withdrawal Period:
Broilers one day.
Sheep and goats 3 days.
